Do I need to take Medical as part of Auto Insurance when I have medical insurance?

I have medical insurance (HMO) and I recently denied taking Medical while cbuying Auto Insurance…

My question is what happens when I met with an accident? Will my Medical insurance covers? My basic understanding is that medical insurance is only if we are sick?
I live in CA. I have taken BlueCross HMO. I purchased GEICO.
